News from Carole Berk-Autumn 2002

Greetings from Bethesda:

Summer was great. And to wrap it up I was in Santa Fe in August. I am not doing shows anymore, but I visited with friends at the Ethnographic show and met privately with clients.
Over the course of the year,I acquired some GREAT pieces of Mexican jewelry and hollow ware. Check out my site www.caroleberk.com to see some of the latest. There are lots more to be added. To whet your appetite I will list a few:

Spratling:
A 3 piece chocolate set in silver and ebony
2 tea strainers
A lovely small dish
Several rings with amethyst and rose quartz
The dangling heart brooch
A bracelet in silver with amethysts

Aguilar:
A fantastic silver necklace- that I have never seen before
An oval brass centerpiece
A mixed copper/brass pitcher
A copper creamer/sugar set

MATL:
Several brooches of sea creatures:a sea horse, a small fish and a swordfish

Los Castillo:
A silver bracelet
A copper tray
The piggybank brooch
And several unsigned 40s repousse pieces .

I have been receiving many requests for values of Mexican silver pieces. I am an appraiser of Mexican silver and there is a fee for this service. It is $75. for one piece and $100. an hour after that for more than one piece.

BAKELITE
I have just acquired a large collection of Bakelite boxes. They are absolutely fantastic. Watch my site for images. These boxes are extremely hard to come by and especially in mint condition. If you are looking for the best there is - you have come to the right place.

I have been selling quite a lot of Whitefriars, English glass. Most of it is pictured on my site. It spans the years 1930-1970. There are many interesting shapes and colors for all interiors. And it is very reasonably priced. Check it out.

As always I am happy to hear from you.
